Test Yourself Vocabulary!

Try and see if you can remember all the heart and circulation vocabulary. All you need to do is to decide what the definition is describing. You then type it into the box under the definition, without using capital letters. You must spell it correctly, or the computer will not recognise your answer. When you have answered them all, click to have your test marked. The marks will appear in the boxes at the end of each row. You can then go back and try again on the ones you may have got wrong. Good luck!

This is a gas that is carried in the blood. It is needed by the cells in our bodies.

We have two of these. We breathe air, with oxygen in it, into our these, where it passes into the blood, to be taken all around the body.

This word is used to describe the way in which the blood flows around the body.

This is what you can feel when your heart beats and the surge of blood can be felt where the blood vessels are close to the skin.

This is the steady pace that our heart beats when our body is at rest. This is just about the same each time you measure it. After exercising, if we then relax, our heart rate will drop to this. It is different for each of us.

The speed at which your heart beats is called this.

This is the name given to the tubes which carry the blood all around the body.
