This unit is intended for use with KS1 children. It provides an
easily accessible method of supplying online basic maths reinforcement
and revision activities for children working towards the end of
KS1 (Level 2) of the National Curriculum.
The exercises in the unit concentrate on providing children with
enjoyable activities that fit clearly into the key objectives
as outlined in the National Numeracy Strategy document. It
is also hoped that by doing the exercises and activities in the
unit the child will enhance his or her performance in the end of
KS2 National Tests (SATs)
These notes contain some useful background information to accompany
each of the children's sections in this unit. Although some of this
information is specific to the section to which it refers much of
it applies equally well across all sections.
In all parts of the unit, it is important to remember that the
child should be encouraged at all times to use his or her own reasoning
and strategies to solve the problems involved.
