Parallel circuit (2)

Remember the model house from the series circuit section? (If not, go back to remind yourself.) Having light in all the rooms makes the model much better, but there is a problem. If any of the bulbs are removed, all the lights in the house go out. Why is this? For a clue, look at the previous section.

We can improve the lighting in the model house by using a parallel circuit. Remember, a parallel circuit uses more wires to connect each component separately to the battery. This means that if one bulb is removed, the rest of the circuit will still stay lit.

Work out how to wire the house with a parallel circuit. (The house is shown this way so you can see where all the wires go.) When you have put all the components in the correct place the switch will click on.
