Teacher Notes

These materials relate to aspects of National Curriculum Attainment Target 2: Number.

Specifically:
"Pupils count, order, add and subtract numbers when solving problems involving up to 10 objects. They read and write the numbers involved" (Level 1)

"Pupils count sets of objects reliably, and use mental recall of addition and subtraction facts to 10." (Level 2)

Instructions for pupils:
First they should move the mouse pointer over the picture (shown above). Then there are two pages of information on number, which illustrate adding and subtracting numbers and number bonds to 10. When pupils feel familiar with this they can move on to the Quiz Bank.

Each quiz consists of 20 multiple choice questions. Pupils can have as many guesses as they like at each question, but only when they get the correct answer will the smiley face appear. Pupils can at any point choose to move on to the next question, but if they do so without entering the correct response a "frowny" face will be added. On completion of each quiz a total sheet appears with a smiley for each correct answer, and a frowny for each incorrect answer.
Quiz 1 covers addition.
Quiz 2 covers subtraction.
Quiz 3 covers slightly harder addition.

All answers are between 1 and 10.
