Instructions for pupils:
First the pupil should move the mouse pointer over the picture to
the left. Then there is a page of information on 2D shapes which,
through interactivity, provide the pupil with basic information about
shape and space. When they feel familiar with this they can move on
to the Quiz Bank. Each quiz consists of a number of multiple
choice questions. Pupils can have as many guesses as they like at
each question, but only when they get the correct answer will the
smiley face appear. Pupils can at any point choose to move on to the
next question, but if they do so without entering the correct response
a "frowny" face will be added. On completion of each quiz
a total sheet appears with a smiley for each correct answer, and a
frowny for each incorrect answer.
Quiz 1 and 2 are mainly pictorial.
Quiz 3 and 4 use more words.
The Shape Puzzle requires pupils to compare small changes between
two shapes.
Classroom Management:
If this is the first time that the pupil will be using these materials,
it is recommended that an older pupil or adult accompany them to
help with reading and navigation. Later they should be able to work
alone - or at least with an "experienced" peer.
